Haizlei N. Cox, 1, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 7:24 a.m., May 17, 2022 at Mercy One Medical Center, Clinton, IA. 

She was born January 27, 2021 in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Kendra Cox & Oliver (Estefania) Straitiff.  She was living in Clinton, IA.    

Surviving Haizlei is her parents, Kendra Cox of Monmouth, IL, Oliver & Estefania Straitiff of Clinton, IA; two sisters, Remedy Melvin & Eveigha Melvin both of Monmouth, IL; her grandparents; Tonya (Derrick Martin) Cox of Galesburg, IL, Jonathan Cox of Kirkwood, IL, Ashley (Jeremy) Vollbracht of Monmouth, IL; aunt, Kaidence Cox of Galesburg, IL.  Also surviving is Nicholas Melvin of Monmouth, IL; several additional aunts and uncles; special family friends, Eric Clifton, Nadia Clifton, Randell Clifton, Matthew Shughart, Kelsea Shughart; and godfather, Darol Toops of Monmouth, IL.    

She is preceded in death by her great great grandfathers, Harvy Crawford & Terry Cox; great great grandmother, Betty Lee.Funeral Services 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.  Memorials can be made to the Haizlei Cox Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
