Memorial Wall for Monmouth Fire Department
The Monmouth Fire Department will hold a Memorial Wall Dedication starting at 9am on Saturday, May 28th at Fire Station #2 at 1100 South Main Street. Captain Craig Cozadd says the memorial has been a work in progress and will honor two Monmouth fallen firefighters…
“A couple years ago at Station 2. Covid of course got in the way of a lot of things we were doing with it, but we build a memorial wall down there for our firefighters have been killed. They have two fire fighters since 1855 that were killed one was 1867 Richard Perrott, and in 1993 Assistant Chief Dennis Olson. So we had two firefighter fatalities and so we built a memorial wall and put plaques on there that we got put up there this spring finally. And we’re going to do a dedication on May 28th, at 9am. It’s open to the public. It’ll be just a service we’re going to do, and we’ll talk about each firefighter that was killed, the background and what happened on that days as best we can”
The memorial wall dedication this Saturday is open to the public.
