Not Guilty Plea In Murder Of Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy
The suspect accused of killing a Knox County Sheriff’s deputy is entering a plea of not guilty. Daylon Richardson is facing two counts of murder, aggravated fleeing and eluding authorities, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a firearm. Richardson’s car hit and killed deputy Nicholas Weist [[ WHY-st ]] last month while attempting to flee from police in Henry County, according to prosecutors. Richardson’s public defender filed the plea Monday and requested a jury trial. The jury trial is now scheduled to start in the case this July.
