Oral E. “Gene” Reyburn, 93, of Monmouth IL, passed away at 6:23 am, Saturday, May 7, 2022 at his home. 

Gene was born December 24, 1928 in Gladstone Township, Henderson County, IL the son of William M. and Merle M. (Kessinger) Reyburn.  He was raised and educated in rural Henderson and Warren Counties. 

Gene married Donna Lou Kelley on May 10, 1952 in Rock Island, IL and she survives. 

Gene was a welder working for the Mayrath Company in Monmouth, IL for over 20 years, Butler Manufacturing in Galesburg, IL for 20 years before retiring in 1993 and later assisting Bertelsen Farms for over 20 years, retiring again in 2013. 

Gene enjoyed trapping, fishing, hunting, farming and doing home improvement projects for family and friends. 

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Donna Reyburn of Monmouth; his children, Sherrie (Richard) Hall of Monmouth, Norman (Rose) Reyburn of Mechanicsville, VA, Tommy Reyburn of Monmouth, Jimmy (Cindy) Reyburn of Summerville, SC and Jerry (LaNae) Reyburn of Geneseo, IL; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; his brother, Jimmy (Sandra) Reyburn of Whittier, CA; numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 siblings. 

Funeral services 11:00 am Friday, May 13, 2022 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Interment will take place at Monmouth Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Betty’s Garden at Courtyard Estates, Monmouth and sent to the funeral home.
