Paul M. Parrick, 40 of Abingdon, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 22, 2022 at his home.
He is survived by his parents, Bruce and Mary Parrick of Abingdon; his siblings, Mark (Allison) Parrick of Springfield, Missouri, Yvonne (Jason) Tabb of Bloomington, Anthony Parrick of Washington, Nicole (Pat) Kisler of Galesburg and Christopher “Bubba” Parrick of Abingdon; his 16 nieces & nephews who loved hanging on “Uncle Paul”; his aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Frederick, Virginia, Giuseppe and Nicolina; uncles Bob Parrick and Tony Maienza; aunt Joyce Smith and cousins Nicholas and Mike.
Paul was born October 7, 1981 in Galesburg, the son of Bruce E. and Mary J. (Pica) Parrick. He has lived in Abingdon most of his life. He graduated from Abingdon High School in 2000 and attended Carl Sandburg College. He was raised in the Catholic faith and was an Altar Server at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. He worked at Belcan Engineering Group in Peoria since 2010 and was a Lead Electronic Technician. In recent years, he turned his passion for barbecue into a food stand and eventually a restaurant in Abingdon.
Paul loved life. He was quick with a joke and always first to the snack tray! Paul never hesitated to lend a hand. He loved his family and friends. He will be missed.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel with the praying of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Paul’s funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 504 N. Main St. in Abingdon. Father Lee Brokaw will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Online Condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
