Phyllis I Terwilliger, 90, of Avon, IL, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 9:10 p.m. in Seminary Manor of Galesburg, IL. She was born May 13, 1931, in Farmington, IL, the daughter of Paul and Grace (Tasker) Barkley. She married James C. Terwilliger on September 2, 1948, in London Mills and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2005.

Surviving Phyllis is her sons, Bernie (Debbie) Terwilliger of Avon, Bob (Liana) Terwilliger of Alexis, IL; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Alice Urish and Jerry Barkley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 1 brother.

Phyllis worked on the farm with Jim for many years. She was a member of the London Mills American Legion Auxiliary and later the Fairview American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and dancing.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Avon. Memorials may be made to the Spoon River Valley Educational Foundation and left in the care of the funeral home. The Wise Family Funeral Home in Avon is handling the arrangements.
