Theodore Charles McCormick, 62, of Galesburg, died peacefully Saturday Evening, May 7, 2022 at home with his family by his side.

Ted was born September 7, 1959 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of James Ray and Ruth Marie (Walkemeyer) McCormick.

Ted graduated from Spoon River Valley High School in London Mills, Illinois and went on to work at Maytag in Galesburg for 21 years.  After retiring from Maytag, Ted went to work for the railroad for 17 years as a conductor. 

Ted is survived by four sons, Shamus (Amy) McCormick of Monmouth, Illinois, Chad (Crystal) McCormick of Lake City, FL, Shawn McCormick of Galesburg, and Cody (Ashley) McCormick of Astoria, Illinois; five grandchildren, Kirstin McCormick, Ashton McCormick, Korbyn McCormick, Brayden McCormick, and Harper McCormick, and a sixth grandchild due in June.  He is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie (Randy) Bellinger of Monmouth, Illinois and Cheri Corbin of Grant Park, Illinois; one brother, Steve (Karen) McCormick of Eureka, Missouri; and a brother-in-law, Dave Zimmerman of Dahinda, Illinois.  Ted was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jane Zimmerman.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Cedar Creek Hall, 571 E. North St., Galesburg, IL 61401.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation at www.lungcancerresearchfoundation.org.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
