Verna Jean Conard, 93, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 10:14 am, Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, IL. 

Jean was born on March 22, 1929 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter and Earl Harvey and Josephine Ellen (Liggett) Bennett.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, attending Monmouth High School. 

Jean married Edward Conard, Jr. on February 12, 1950 in Kirkwood, IL and he passed away February 3, 2006. 

Jean was a homemaker.  She also worked as a waitress at the Monmouth Elks Club and later a press operator at Killey Cleaners in Monmouth. 

She was of the Methodist faith. 

Survivors include her 3 sons, James (Tina) Conard of Monmouth, Dan Conard of Monmouth and Roger (Debbie) Conard of Galesburg; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 1 step grandchild and 2 step great grandchildren; her brother, Larry E. (Vera) Bennett of Davenport, IA.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Erma Lou Shaw and Jane Hall. 

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 13, 2022 at Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, IL.  No visitation hours are planned.  Memorials may be given to the Jamison Center Meals on Wheels program.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
