William Todd Baldwin of Henderson, Illinois, died at 6:54 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born December 22, 1961 in Newton, Iowa, the son of William C. and Thalia E. (Arndt) Baldwin. Todd graduated from Galesburg High School in 1980 then attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, where he received his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He worked at Maytag for many years until the plant closed.  Todd also had worked at John Deere and Caterpillar for many years, and later as a production planner at Eaton-Cobham Mission Systems in Davenport, Iowa for four years.

Left to cherish his memory is his fiancé, Karla Selser of Henderson; one brother, Steven M. Baldwin of Galesburg; one nephew, Chase M. Baldwin of Galesburg; one step-grandson, Axl Brewer of Henderson; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Todd had a great passion for NASCAR, vintage cars, or simply anything to do with cars. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and loved his dog, Lucky. Todd will be loved and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him in his all too short 60 years of life.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Lake Okoboji in Dickinson, Iowa. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
