Area High School Baseball Players Ready for Quad Cities Metro vs. Quad Cities Area All-Star Game

A Quad Cities Metro vs. Quad Cities Area High School All-Star Baseball Game is scheduled for tonight at Douglas Park in Rock Island. The double header starts at 5:00. It’s the first time since 2014 a high school all star baseball game will be played in the Quad Cities. The game will feature 34 local players from 12 different schools, including three coaches for each squad. The games will be seven innings each. All proceeds from the game will go toward the continued renovation of Douglas Park. An MVP for each team will awarded at the end of the night. Monmouth-area players on the Quad Cities area will include Zach Almaguer and CJ Johnson from Monmouth-Roseville and Nolan Leffer and Jon Smith from United High School. United Red Storm head coach Ryan Molek will be one of the coaches on the Area team. The Metro squad will be made up of five of the eight Western Big Six Conference schools.
