Burlington Man Arrested for Arson

On June 14, 2022 at approximately 12:08 a.m. Burlington Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the 300 Block of Curran for a report of a garage fire.

Upon arrival, responding units found the garage fully engulfed. Through investigation a person of interest in setting this fire was shortly thereafter located. This person was transported to the police department for questioning. At the conclusion of the interview this person was placed under arrest.

ARRESTED: Mark Antonio Carter

AGE: 44

ADDRESS: Burlington, Iowa

CHARGES: -Arson in the 2nd degree, a Class C Felony

Mark Antonio Carter was transported to the Des Moines County Correctional Facility and held on bond pending an initial court appearance. No other details are being released at this time.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
