Cardinals Get Walked Off Against Rays

Share

The St. Louis Cardinals gave up a three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth inning during a 4-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.  Drew VerHagen was a strike away from saving the game for St. Louis before Taylor Walls went deep to end it.  VerHagen falls to 3-and-1 with the loss as the Cards spoil a strong outing from Dakota Hudson, who gave up just one run in seven innings.  Lars Nootbaar and Harrison Bader each drove in a run in the losing effort, and the Cardinals fall to 32-and-24.  They take on the Rays tonight at 6:10 PM.
