Emile Soucy, 78, of Alexis, IL, passed away at 9:49 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Iowa City VA Medical Center, Iowa City, IA.

He was born on August 16, 1943 in Barre, VT., the son Charles and Amosa (Vachon) Soucy.  He was raised and educated in Vermont. 

Emile served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.    

He worked at Munson Transportation in Monmouth for the duration they were in business and most recently, he worked as a heavy equipment operator at Valley Construction in Rock Island.  Emile had a passion for helping people in need when they needed it the most.  He enjoyed riding his outdoor toys and checking on his family and friends.

Surviving Emile is his children, Robert (Donna) Soucy, Tammy Soucy, Charles (Stacey) Soucy, Kenneth (Mandy) Soucy, Larry (Lisa) Soucy, Jessie (Matthew) Fout, Keith Straitiff, Trudy Straitiff, and Kevin (Donna) Straitiff.  Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his siblings, Imelda (Irvin) Parrish, Robert Soucy, and Cecile Cardoza. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Christina Soucy; and his brother, Ernie Soucy.    

Memorial Services with Military Honors will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  The family will be present an hour prior to the service at the funeral home to greet friends.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Emile Soucy Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
