Ivan D. Lant, age 85, of Media, Illinois, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center is Peoria, Illinois.  He was born January 13, 1937 in Rozetta, Illinois, the son of Samuel and Elsie Ahlers Lant.  On January 16, 1954, he married Catherine Irene Link in Kahoka, Missouri.  She preceded him in death on May 27, 2006.

Mr. Lant owned and operated Lant’s 66 Service Station in Media from 1963 to 1970, and later farmed in Henderson County for many years.  He served on the Media Village Board for many years, and enjoyed camping, playing cards, and going to the casino.

Survivors include three daughters: Cathy Perry of Peoria, IL, Lorretta Rountree of Burlington, IA, Iva (Bill) Carlson of Biggsville, IL, two sons: Craig (Donna) Lant of Macomb, IL, Lyle Lant of Stronghurst, IL, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one sister, Gladys (Dan) Gulick of Kirkwood, IL.  He was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters: Debra and Lola Lant, three sisters: Phyllis Conner, Katherine Wallace, and Carol McGeehon, and two brothers: Robert Lant, in infancy, and Max Lant.

Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be in the Olena Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 10, 2022  at St Patrick’s Community Center near Raritan.  A memorial fund has been established for the Maple City Antique Tractors Association.  Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst is assisting the family.  Please visit Ivan’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to sign the guest book and leave a condolence.
