Jim graduated from Avon High School and attended Browns Business College in Galesburg.  He was a proud World War II Navy veteran and was stationed in China on a then top-secret assignment.   He lived in California most of his adult life and retired from Corona Trucking in Corona, California.  After retiring, he lived in Florida with his daughter Cynthia and family, and then moved to the Veterans Home in Quincy in 2011, where he made many friends.  He enjoyed playing golf and shooting pool when he was young, winning many trophies for pool.  In later years he enjoyed listening to and singing along with country music.

At his request, cremation will be accorded and no services will be held.  His cremains will be buried next to his wife, Lois, in the Abingdon Cemetery.  He was well loved and will be missed by many.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
