KCHS Director Erin Buckmaster Shares Tips to Keep Those Pets Cool this Summer

Share

If it’s too hot for you outdoors, its’ too hot for your pet. Knox County Humane Society Executive Director Erin Buckmaster offers these tips for pet owners to keep in mind during the summer months:

“It is just hot, hot, and hotter. Absolutely no car rides unless you have your air on and you stay in the car with your pet, because it is really way too hot to leave any out. I mean, even in the shade it is hot. Having plenty of water is very important.”

If you see an animal in distress, Buckmaster advises contacting your local authorities.
