As temperatures remain warm and rain creates standing pockets of water, prime locations for mosquitoes are formed. The Warren County Health Department has already begun testing mosquitoes for West Nile Virus, which have been negative so far. Administrator Jenna Link offers tips to stay protected from bites this season:
“If you are out at dusk or dawn that is kind of when the mosquito likes to bite. Make sure you are wearing protective clothing, wearing your repellant. If you have anything that can hold water for seven days, it can allow mosquitoes to lay their eggs and develop into adult mosquitoes. Just really check around your yard and keep standing water at bay.”
