Dine-in, drive-thru, or carry-out dinner tonight from the Warren County 4-H barbeque. University of Illinois Extension 4-H Youth Development Educator Shelby Carlson shares this is just one fundraiser event that helps support 4-H programs and scholarships for local youth:
“We do a lot of great work throughout the year and a lot of that wouldn’t be possible without the support of our 4-H Foundations. We do two primary fundraisers throughout the year; we do our 4-H Barbeques, and we do a letter donation campaign and lots of local businesses and local alumni contribute when we do a letter campaign. Our 4-H Barbeques are really a great opportunity for us to get in front of the public and talk about what we do. Those foundations, they are supporting us in a lot of ways maybe that is providing scholarships to 4-H opportunities so our local kids can explore different opportunities available outside of the county area at a relatively low or most of the time no cost to them, we can send them to different opportunities
The pork chop barbeque meal will be hot off the grill tonight at the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau building; located at 1000 North Main in Monmouth from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
