Monmouth Cowboy JFL Football Program Making a Comeback

Share

After a two-year hiatus, the Monmouth Cowboys JFL football program is making a comeback. The Cowboys had a long and successful run in both the Galesburg Tackle JFL Organization and the Macomb Junior Football League, before the Macomb League transitioned to a modified football league, essentially a flag football league in 2018. The Cowboys switched back to the Galesburg League in 2018 and 2019 but did not field a team in 2020 and 2021 due to low numbers. The program is for area youth entering the 5th or 6th grades.

Justin Thomas has been associated with the program in an administration role for a number of years and is helping in putting a Cowboy team back on the field in Galesburg this fall.

The games will be played on Sundays, starting August 21st, on the artificial turf field at Galesburg High School. For more information, contact Justin Thomas at (309) 221-4181 or Nici Jones at (309) 255-4439. There’s plenty of information on the Cowboy’s Facebook page, as well, by going to Monmouth JFL Cowboys.
