Warren County Board Passes Establishment of 2 Lines of Credit for Warren County Public Transportation ARPA Funds

Share

By a unanimous vote, the Warren County Board has approved the establishment of two lines of credit to assist Warren County Public Transportation as they utilize their American Rescue Plan Act Funds, shares Buildings and Grounds Committee Chairman Sean Cavanaugh:

“With COVID related dollars that Warren County Public Transportation has, it is different than Monmouth or the County or other entities. Warren County Public Transportation was allotted $1.6 million and in order to receive those funds, we have to spend it first and then be reimbursed throughout the process. We worked out something with several of the local banks, a line of credit, which will help Warren County Public Transportation to be able to use those COVID funds and improve the facilities. Then another line of credit for the operational side, they get reimbursed by the state through various grants, but you have to spend the money up front first before you get reimbursed.”

Furthermore, through grants from the State of Illinois, Warren County Public Transportation will be able to swap their old busses for new ones.
