Those aged 6 months to 4 years are now eligible to receive a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and those 6 months to 5 years of age can receive a Moderna vaccine. 88 cases were reported in Warren County throughout June and Warren County Health Department Administrator Jenna Link shares where the county lies:
“Home tests are not reported so we really only see those that either go to a provider or come to the health department or one of the health centers to get tested or a pharmacy. Those tests do come into us. So far in June we have had 88 new cases, which is elevated and putting us into a high transmission as far as the community goes. Transmission looks at new cases, but our community level is still at medium and that is taking a look more at what is happening in the healthcare sector; are there hospitalizations, ICU availability, and things like that. Those numbers are still relatively low and manageable and that is one of the other indicators they look at to see what is happening with COVID in our community.”
The Warren County Health Department offers vaccination clinics Mondays through Thursdays from 1 to 4 pm at the clinic for all vaccines. Appointments can be made by calling 309-734-0823.
