Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending May 29, 2022:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is softball players seniors Carlee Woodell, Karleigh Ashby and junior Ailexa Hunter. These 3 girls were named to the Three Rivers Conference’s West Division All-Conference team. Ashby was a 2nd team outfielder, with Hunter making the second team as a pitcher. Woodell was named to the Honorable Mention list as an infielder.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior baseball players, Nolan Leffler, Cormaic Flynn, Aidan Parkins, Colin Jenks and Jon Smith. These five players were named to the Lincoln Trail Conference’s All-Western Division first team. Leffler was named as a pitcher, with Cormaic, Aidan, Colin and Jon named as all-division position players. The Red Storm won the Lincoln Trail Conference championship for the second straight year.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is Bailey Ryan. Bailey had a big hand in sending the Heat to the Super-Sectional round for the first time in program history. Her walk-off single in the bottom of the 8th inning brought home the winning run in the sectional semifinals. Bailey’s sacrifice bunt in the proceeding sectional championship game also brought home the eventual winning run.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior baseball player, Easton Steck. What a great regional tournament Easton had last week at the plate. In three Silver Streak wins on the way to a regional championship, Easton was 5-for-10, scoring four runs and driving in another amazing total of 8 runs. Among those five hits were two doubles and a home run.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week. This week the spotlight shines on softball players, senior Maleaha Nagel, sophomore Gabe Bryan and freshman Taylor Ford. These three young ladies were named to the Lincoln Trail Conference’s All-Conference team. Gabe was a first-team pitcher and Maleaha was named to the second team as a positional player. Taylor was selected to the Honorable Mention list.
