Auditions for the Buchanan Center for the Arts upcoming radio-play, Arsenic and Old Lace are just around the corner. When sisters Martha and Abby Brewster are not busy making special meals for the sick or providing used toys for local benefits, they are brewing up their own special concoction of Elderberry Wine, laced with just enough arsenic to help lonely, old widowers into the next world. Executive Director Kristyne Gilbert has the details:

“Auditions start for Arsenic and Old Lace, which will be performed as a 1940’s radio-play, no memorization, auditions will be held Tuesday, August 23rd and Thursday, August 25th from 6 to 8 pm at the Buchanan Center. There is no need to prepare anything in advance. There are parts for everyone in a variety of roles. There may be some double casting. In addition to those double casting roles, they include a local radio announcer, sound effects performers, and a pianist.”

Rehearsals begin the week of September 5th. Performance dates for Arsenic and Old Lace are October 21st and 22nd.
