Don’t Delay Those Routine Pre-Screening Exams

Share

Scheduling those pre-screens are vital in early detection and diagnosis, says OSF Community Health Program Manager for the Upper Western Region Connie Wessels:

“The number one as far as for men is making sure to get that prostate screening. They really want you to do that over the age of 50, but maybe even a little younger age if you have a family history. Another one we all need to get is a colonoscopy. Anybody over the age of 50 should have a colonoscopy. Everyone should have their blood pressure checked and then your cholesterol, triglycerides, and then also an A1C for diabetes. If we can catch pre-diabetes early, then maybe with diet and exercise, maybe we can stop progression as far being on medication or things like that.”

Wessels says to contact your local healthcare provider to schedule routine pre-screening exams.
