On Sunday July 10, at 8:41 p.m. a McDonough County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a black Suzuki motorcycle entering Good Hope, from the north on Highway 67 at 65 miles per hour and had no registration on the motorcycle. The motorcycle stopped for the deputy when he conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of North Monmouth Street. The driver pulled over long enough for the deputy to exit the vehicle and then fled the traffic stop. The driver sped away at over 80 miles per hour.
After a short pursuit the driver of the motorcycle stopped and then fled on foot near East 1800th and Illinois Route 9. The driver was apprehended by the deputy and taken into custody. The driver was identified as David J. Gordon, 41, of East Moline. Gordon was lodged in the McDonough County Jail pending a bond hearing.
Gordon was charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Speeding, Aggravated Driving Suspended, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting a Peace Officer.
All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
