Mary E. Murray, Galesburg, died at 3:27 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born in Wauwatosa, WI, the daughter of Duane and Helen (Tulin) Murray, on August 4, 1957.  She attended Galesburg High School, then studied at Illinois State University and Dominican University, earning her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science. She was employed with the Alliance Library System prior to working as a District Librarian for United CUSD 304.

Mary is survived by a few cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, and an uncle.

She was always ready for good conversation, and known for her sense of humor. Mary enjoyed reading, dining out with friends, and spending time with her dogs.

Loved ones are invited to attend graveside services on Monday, July 18, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at East Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg.

Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial donations may be directed toward Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Knox County Humane Society, or an animal rescue of your choice.

A Celebration of Life Event will be announced at a later date.
