Monmouth-Roseville Junior High Counselor Gearing up for 8th St. Jude Run
On August 6, 2022, people will be running for more than a time, a record, or a medal – they will be running for hope. Since its 1982 inception, St. Jude Runs has raised over $71,190,382 to further the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Locally, Wendy Anderson a Counselor at Monmouth-Roseville Junior High says she will participate in this year’s run again.
“I run for St. Jude and raise money for St. Jude. This will be I believe my eighth year. I ran two years with the Galesburg satellite run and I believe this will be my sixth year running the Memphis run. We had worry in that. Virtually for two years so I am excited this year we will be loading up the RV’s and heading down to Memphis. There will be restrictions obviously on the hospital campus, but I am excited again have it feel a little more normal. We will go early August; I think we pull out of Peoria on August 2nd and then we will start the run back August 3rd and then end at the Civic Center in Peoria on the 6th.”
Anderson says her twin sister also runs with her, and it’s become a family event to support St. Jude’s and their mission.
