Norman Lloyd Wilcoxen, 82 of rural Abingdon, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at his home.

  He was born October 22, 1939 in Galesburg, the son of Lloyd W. and Serena (Surroz) Wilcoxen.

  Norm is survived by his companion of 40 years, Carolyn Reifsteck; his son, Jeff (Dena) Wilcoxen of Florida; his bonus family, Randy Reifsteck and Deborah Martz both of Abingdon; his bonus grandchildren, Nathan Martz, Nicholas Martz, and Kylie Reifsteck.

  He was preceded in death by his parents.

  Norm grew up in in the London Mills area and graduated from Valley High School in 1957.  He was a farmer and farmed East of Abingdon for many years.  He also traveled the Illinois Valley Fair Circuit with the Northern Illinois Colt Association for over 30 years, maintaining race tracks.  He also enjoyed tractor pulling with his bonus grandsons.

  As he requested, cremation will be accorded.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is in charge of cremation arrangements.

  Memorials may be made to the family, for a memorial fund to be established, in care of Carolyn Reifsteck, 611 Knox Highway 23, Abingdon, IL 61410.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
