The American Legion Baseball 3rd Division Tournament started last night in Peoria. In opening round games, it was Rock Island Post 200 over the hosts, Peoria Post 2, 14-1 in five innings. Also, East Moline Post 227 defeated Galesburg Post 2856-5, in a game that was played at Sundberg Field in Galesburg. Galesburg led 5-1 going into the bottom of the 6th in that one before the wheels fell off and Post 285 surrendered five runs in the frame. Galesburg fell to (20-9) overall with the loss and needs to beat Peoria on Wednesday in a consolation game to remain alive in the double elimination format.
