Alice E. Caswell Statham

Alice E. Caswell Statham passed away on August 18, 2022 in Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born to Willard and Esther Caswell on July 15, 1938 in Gray, Maine.  She attended school in Gray, Maine and graduated from Pennell Institute in 1957.  Alice went on to further her education at Berea College, Berea, Kentucky and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.  On August 8, 1959, she married the love of her life, Dr. Hershel W. Statham in Gray, Maine.  Together they had two sons, H. Wayne Statham of Galesburg, Illinois and Bradford C. Statham of Champaign, Illinois.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Stearns Caswell, Charles Caswell, and Robert Caswell.  She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Dr. Hershel W. Statham; her sons, H. Wayne Statham (and Luan) and Bradford C. Statham; her grandchildren, Zachary W. Statham and Natalie M. (and Kevin) Aschbrenner; one great-grandson; a brother, Claude Caswell; and her sister, Catherine Hickson.

Alice spent her years being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was extremely proud to wear all of those titles.  She will be greatly missed by her devoted family and friends. 

Cremation will be accorded.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor may be made to DD Homes Network.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
