The Illinois Ag in the Classroom has two grant opportunities for teachers to use in the upcoming school year. Warren-Henderson Ag in the Classroom Coordinator Anna Sharp explains the process of applying for the Book and Project Grants:
“The Book Grant and it is for up to $250 worth of books, but you get to purchase those books through the Ag in the Classroom prices so really it is more like $500 worth of books. Then we also have the Project Grant. I know I see a lot of teachers putting out their wish lists and projects they are hoping to get funded. This is a great opportunity. It doesn’t have to be strictly about Farmer Joe or hogs, it can be that you are growing plants in the classroom or maybe you want to hatch chicks in the classroom and have your own incubator. There are a lot of ways you can go with it.”
The deadline to apply for the Book or Project grants in October 14th. More details can be found on the Warren-Henderson Ag in the Classroom Facebook page.
