Lloyd Gene Clark, Jr., 63, of Abingdon, Illinois, died at 5:21 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

He was born August 28, 1958 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Lloyd E. Clark, Sr. and Marjorie Ann (Shawgo) Cunningham. Lloyd was reared and educated in the Monmouth area. He worked as a truck driver since 1993, working at DCM Transport, Bertis Carlson Trucking, and several others for many years. There was nothing else he would have rather done; he greatly enjoyed his career and the opportunities to see the country that it provided.

Lloyd married Cheryl Ann Guthrie on October 31, 1993 in Pine Springs, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cheryl Clark of Abingdon; three sons: James (Brandi) Brown of San Angelo, Texas, William (Mikey) Lynch of Abingdon, and Marlin Brown of Peoria, Illinois; three daughters: Carla (Mike) Shelley of San Angelo, Texas, Misty Campbell of Abingdon, and Sarah Espinoza of California; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers: Rick (Misha) Clark of Wataga, Illinois, Steve (Mary Jane) Clark of Galesburg, Chris (Cheryl) Clark of Canton, Illinois, Wayne Clark of Wisconsin, and James Cunningham of Galesburg; two sisters: Mary Clark of Anaheim, California, and Debbie Clark of Mexico; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Brenda and Tina Clark; and two brothers: Kenneth Guerrero and Danny Clark.

Lloyd absolutely loved fishing and being outdoors. He enjoyed messing with any sort of tools that caught his eye, whether it was while he was at home or walking by something in the store that he just had to stop to check out. Lloyd was a good provider for his family and a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He would spoil his grandchildren any time he had the chance.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held on August 13, 2022. For more information, please reach out to the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory in Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
