MPD Chief Switzer Reminds Residents of Road Closures Ahead of Annual Car Show

Each year the Monmouth Police Department provides security at the annual Maple City Street Machines Car Show in Monmouth to keep all attendees safe. Police Chief Joe Switzer says Monmouth residents and guests can expect the same road closures and procedures as in the years’ past:

“It is going to look exactly like it does every year. Early in the morning on Friday we are going to start closing the roads down, usually around 5:30 to 6:00 is when we start closing the roads down; mainly at the square, Main Street and Broadway at the square and then we spread out throughout the day as vehicles come in. There will be officers and administrative staff out there putting road closed signs down. Just be cognizant of those barricades out there.”

The annual Car Show is scheduled for Friday, August 5th. Chief Switzer also informs the Bird Scooters will not be in service that day, plus advises not to bring your dogs to the event and alcohol is not allowed.
