Dr. Paul Linzey on the WRAM Morning Show

Paul Linzey is a writer, speaker, and mentor. He was a pastor before going into the Army chaplaincy, retired from the military in 2015 at the rank of Colonel, and then served as the Protestant pastor at the United States Naval Academy.

In a sense, returning to “the Blue Side” was a matter of coming full circle because he grew up in a Navy family. His father and brother were Navy chaplains, and one of his sons is a Navy chaplain. His other two sons are Army officers.

Paul is available for preaching, guest speaking, training church volunteers for ministry, marriage seminars, and more. His wife, Linda, is also an ordained minister who is available for speaking and teaching, whether in a church setting, Bible Study, or women’s retreat.

Linzey completed the Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA. Graduate degrees include the Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary, the Doctor of Ministry at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Tampa. He taught Creative Writing at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida for several years, and has been a featured speaker at several writers conferences and workshops. He is an adjunct professor of Practical Ministry at Southeastern University, and a mentor in their Doctor of Ministry program.

Linzey’s wife, Linda, has enjoyed a career as a university professor of Literature and the Humanities. She is also an ordained minister. Throughout their adult life, whether serving in a church, the military, or the university, Paul and Linda have been involved in small group ministries, Bible studies, pastoral care, lay leadership training, and marriage/family seminars and retreats.

Linzey is an award-winning author who has written articles for religious and military magazines. He was a contributing writer and editor for Life Publisher’s The Warriors Bible in 2014. Then in 2019 he published a book called WisdomBuilt: Biblical Principles of Marriage. His second book, released in 2020, is titled Safest Place in Iraq, and focuses on his experience as a military chaplain in Iraq during the war. His third book, Military Ministry: Chaplains in the Twenty-First Century, was co-written with Dr. Keith Travis of Liberty University. Many of his devotional articles can be seen at CBN.org’s online magazine. And he just came out with book #4, called Butterfly Believers.

Paul’s personal interests include music, digital photography, movies and theater, sports, and family. He and his wife have three sons who are military officers, ten grandchildren, and a Beagle.

In June 2020, Paul and his wife, Linda, co-founded an editing and formatting business called P&L Publishing & Literary Services to help writers who want to publish their own works. Linda was an editor for a major publisher for five years, and then a university literature and humanities professor, so she can help those who want to submit a book to an agent or a traditional publisher, also.

Paul’s theme Scripture is First Thessalonians 2:8, “We loved you so much that we were willing to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.”
