United Volleyball Opens Season With Win Over BPC

The United Red Storm girls’ volleyball opened the 2022 season with a straight set 25-13 25-17 win over Bushnell Prairie City. Leading the Red Storm were Addison Gillen with 7 kills followed by Callie Mason with 5, Reece Bertelsen with 4, Emma Austin and Rosie Flynn with 1 each. Gillen also led the way with 3 aces while Calli Mason and Reece Bertelsen each added 2, Emerick Huston and Maddie Hepner had 1 apiece. Emma Austin had the lone block of the night. Reece Bertelsen led with 8 digs followed by Addison Murray with 4, Bell Colbrese with 3, Ayden Penn 2 and Taylor Turnquist, Kamryn Penn and Addison Gillen all had 1. Bell Colbrese led the way with 11 assists while Emrick Huston added 4, Taylor Turnquist and Reece Bertelsen with 1 each. The JV girls also won in straight sets 25-14 25-9.
