W-H Farm Bureau Assisting Local Volunteer Firefighters in Attending Grain Bin Rescue Operations Course
The Monmouth Fire Department is hosting a 40-hour Grain Bin Rescue Operations Course in September and the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau is offering assistance to local volunteer firefighters in Warren or Henderson County who register and complete the course, says President Jake Armstrong:
“If you are a volunteer firefighter in Warren or Henderson County, we want to help you finance that and get you there and get you trained. Obviously, this is something that is close to us, and a little training can go a long way to help you. Dave Newcomb of the Illinois Fire Service Institute will be speaking. If you have not heard him speak about these issues, you are missing out. He is very passionate about it, he’s excellent and does a great job breaking it down.”
The 40-hour course will be held September 19th through the 23rd from 8 am to 5 pm each day at the Monmouth Fire Department, 601 Industrial Park Road.
