WIAR is currently looking for volunteers in our main cat room and dog room. We are looking for dependable people to volunteer to help feed and care for dog and cats in our care.

Dog room opportunities available for Breakfast and noon potty breaks. Duties at Breakfast include feeding and changing water, light cleaning, letting dogs out to stretch their legs and potty and showering them with love and attention. At times, medication may have to be given at Breakfast. The noon potty break involves letting dogs out to stretch their legs and potty, refilling water bowls, cleaning up any messes they may have made and showering them with love and attention. Breakfast times can be done sometime between 7am and 9am. Noon potty breaks are normally between 11am and 1pm. Days needed Monday-Friday and occasionally the weekend.

Cat room opportunities are available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Duties include feeding and changing water, light cleaning, scooping litter boxes, letting cats out of their cages for playtime, socializing and loving on them. Mornings normally begin around 8am-9am.

And as always, volunteers are always welcome to just come socialize with the dogs and cats anytime we are open. Dogs really like to go for walks if you have the time.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or have an adult present.

You can get an application at the WIAR Rescue 300 W. Harlem St. or download one from our website www.wiarrescue.com under the “Get Involved” tab.
