The 2022 Warren County Prime Beef Festival Princess Pageant was held this last Saturday evening at The Crossing Church in Monmouth, kicking off the annual week-long event. Seven young women, all from the Monmouth-Roseville School District, participated in the pageant. Malia Killey was crowned this year’s princess:

“I am the 17 year old daughter of Steve and Sherry Killey. I am a senior at Monmouth-Roseville this year. I am involved in multiple extracurricular. Currently I am on the volleyball team. I performed a monologue that I titled ‘Why Are We Here’ and I pretty much talked about how my brother had an influence on me in FFA to join and things that I have done throughout my career in FFA and how I would like to pass on my legacy one day.”

First runner-up went to Addisyn Switzer:

“I am the 17 year old daughter of Joe and Marci Switzer. I am involved in several curricular activities in school. For my talent for the pageant, I did a reenactment of when I was eight I did a baton ribbon dance routine, so I had that video playing in the background as I recreated that routine now.”

Molly Mattan received second runner-up, as well as talent:

“I am the 17 year old daughter of Curt and Stacia Mattan. In my talent, I performed a song by Lady Gaga, ‘Always Remember Us This Way.’ I am involved in everything outside of school, from music to cheerleading. I have a pretty busy schedule so I am really lucky to have this week with my court.”

Rounding out this year’s princess court, Paige Richardson is third runner-up:

“I am the 17 year old daughter of Carrie Richardson and Steve Richardson. I am also involved in volleyball, yearbook, FFA, everything. I did a monologue titled ‘What’s Missing’ and it was about me coming out of my shell in high school. I was really shy freshman year and being involved in different things that I am in now because of my friends that have helped me is a big accomplishment.”

Personality went to McKinley Rexroat.
