David Alan Wheeler, 23, of Wataga, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born June 10, 1999, in Galesburg, the son of Stephanie Delaine Beary.

He is survived by his mom, Stephanie Beary Hallstrom and her fiancé, Norry Lawver of Wataga; two brothers, Douglas C. Shope Jr. and Corey D.H. Shope, both in the state of Kentucky; a sister, Keely R. Wheeler of Wataga; grandparents, Modeane Childers of Galesburg and Richard and Penny Beary Sr. of Dahinda; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

David was an entrepreneur.  He graduated from Galesburg High School in 2017.  David enjoyed playing Pokémon, camping, fishing, and cooking with his mom.

Cremation will be accorded.  A memorial gathering to celebrate David’s life will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg.  As a final goodbye, we will process to the Knoxville Cemetery, where words of comfort will be shared.  Memorial contributions in David’s name may be made to the family to help with final expenses.  Online condolences may be made on the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com.
