Harry James Chesser, 82, of Toulon, died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at home.

He was born June 17, 1940, in Galesburg, the son of Lenard E. “Jim” and Nellie Rosetta (Sargeant) Chesser.

He is survived by two sisters, Yvette Kemp of Galesburg and Bonnie Delabar of Toulon; a brother, George Chesser of Wyoming; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harvey; a sister, Norma Williams; brother-in-law, Eddy Delabar; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Chesser.

Harry attended Wataga High School.  He worked as a farmer for 55 years.  Harry was a quiet man who felt most at home on the farm.

Cremation will be accorded.  Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 in the Wataga Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is honored to serve the family.  Online condolences may be made on the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com.
