Input Prices, Input Availability, Government Policy Top Concerns of Midwestern Farmers

In a recent Purdue Ag Economy Barometer, it was noted farmers are worried about current and future financial health, especially when looking ahead into 2023, while also covering top concerns Midwestern farmers face, explains Lauren Lurkins, Environmental Policy Director with the Illinois Farm Bureau:

According to the article, nineteen percent of farmers said they will look to change their crop mix in 2023 in response to the rising input costs; forty-six percent devoting more acreage to soybeans, while twenty-six percent will change to wheat production and twenty-one percent would plant more corn.
