Kirk G. Berg, 59 of Galesburg, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at his home.

  He was born September 11, 1963 in Galesburg, the son of Robert “Bob” G. and Judith (Doye) Miller. 

  Kirk is survived by his father and stepmother, Bob and Sharon Miller of Abingdon; his mother, Judith Gutschlag of Mount Carmel, Illinois; one son, Elric (Lyndsi) Shannon of Galesburg; one daughter, Casandra Pierson of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Liberty Shannon, Rion Pierson, Leon Pierson, and Alessa Lewis; two brothers, Calvin Berg of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Shawn Berg of Mount Carmel, Illinois; one sister, Teresa Webber of Mount Carmel, Illinois; and one stepbrother, Mike (Angie) Harroun of Galesburg and one stepsister, Gerri Lynn Lester of Galesburg.

  He was preceded in death by his adopted father, Richard Lee Berg and one stepsister, Jamie Harroun.

  Kirk attended Galva Schools.  He worked at Midstate Manufacturing in Galesburg for 25 years.  He enjoyed listening to music and watching television when he wasn’t at work.  He was a Chicago Bears fan. 

  Cremation will be accorded.  A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel.  Pastor Connor Morrison will officiate.  Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
