LaVonna L House, 85, of Macomb, IL passed away at 8:15 pm, Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at her home.  

She was born October 24, 1936 in the St. Louis, Mo the daughter of Milton and Mabel (Cook) Hackett.  LaVonna was raised and educated in St. Louis, MO. 

LaVonna married Charles House on November 30, 1957 in St. Louis and he died October 19, 2020.  

She worked as a factory worker before going to work for St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis in the housekeeping department until she retired in 1994. 

She attended St. Stephen’s Protomartyr in St. Louis. She loved to ride her bike, garden and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her son, Charles Robin (Ginny) House of St. Louis, MO; her 4 grandchildren, Eddie (Shasta) Melton of Chicago, Nathan (John Armstrong) of Macomb. IL, Chrissy Hackett of Fredericktown, MO and Angela House Ballany of Little Rock, AR; 9 great grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren; 2 sister, Rosemary Payne and Laverne Finnochiori both of St. Louis, MO; several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 daughters, Joan Hackett and Patricia Rankin. 

Cremation has been accorded.  A gathering of family and friends will be announced and held at a later date.  A private family interment will take place at St. Matthew’s Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.  Memorials may be given to Beacon of Hope Hospice and sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
