Share

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is offering a free Lead Contractor Supervisor and Worker Initial Training in Galesburg at City Hall, 55 W. Tompkins Street the week of October 24 to 27, 2022. This training enables contractors to become approved Illinois Lead Abatement Contractors, making them eligible to bid on federally funded projects.  All contractors are welcome to register for this important training.

There are two elements to the training. First, it is Supervisor Initial Training for persons who supervise lead-based paint abatement work site activities. The other aspect is Lead Worker Initial Training for persons involved in abatement of lead-based paint. Both trainings are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and run concurrently with the Supervisor training running Monday through Thursday and the Lead Worker training going from Monday through Wednesday. This training program and subsequent licensing fee are paid for by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.  Training is provided by PHS Environmental and Occupational Service.

The flyer and registration form for the program are attached. To register please contact Stephanie Peters at Stephanie.Peters@illinois.gov.  For more information, interested contractors may contact Judy Simkins with the City of Galesburg at (309)345-3652.
