McDonough District Hospital is expanding their services into the Monmouth community with a clinic that will offer sports medicine and rehabilitation and obstetrics and gynecology services, shares Vice President of Clinical and Support Services Adrian MacGregor:

“We are excited to bring this team to Monmouth. Lori Fox is a well-known name in this region. Lori is originally from the Monmouth area. We also have Ashley Hager, Theresa Haring, Angela Hoenig, Patrick Smith, and Tucker Stephens. The group and the combined knowledge of that group and sports medicine rehabilitation exceeds 100 years. Mary Thompson will be leading off with a day a month doing a women’s clinic and then we will build it from there as the volume increases.”

Ear, nose, and throat services will also be offered at MDH’s Monmouth Clinic two days a month, explains Director of Public Relations and Marketing Patrick Osterman:

“We have Dr. Jeffrey Sparks, he is a well-known name around this area. A lot of patients from Monmouth and Galesburg area. Kamie McKee is the Nurse Practitioner in the ear, nose, and throat clinic. Just two high quality, extremely skilled staff members.”

In an effort to better serve its patients, McDonough District Hospital announced it will open a new clinic in Monmouth, Illinois, starting Monday, October 3.

The clinic will be located at 2 AmericInn Way, Suite B (location of the former Cottage Hospital Monmouth Clinic) and with operational hours Monday-Friday.

MDH will offer Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. MDH providers from the Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic and Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic will see outpatients 1-2 days a month.

Patients can begin scheduling appointments for all three service lines by calling (309) 715-7362.

A Convenience Care Clinic, with plans to operate Monday-Friday, will open sometime after the October 3 launch date.

MDH’s new clinic location came about following a strategic planning meeting on how to better serve the hospital’s patients in the northern counties of its primary and secondary service area.

“There is no MDH clinic north of Macomb and Bushnell, and currently we have more than 1,000 patients from the Monmouth area seeking medical services at MDH. That forces those patients, especially those living in Warren, Knox and Fulton County, to drive to one of our two McDonough County locations for their specialty care or primary care needs,” said MDH President/Chief Executive Officer Brian E. Dietz, FACHE. “Opening a clinic in Monmouth is a convenience for our patients, saving them time and money on travel expenses.

“MDH Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation has been voted Best of the Best in McDonough County five consecutive years, and a MDH staff member has been voted Best Physical Therapist all five years. Our award winning Rehab department will work with patients inside a larger physical therapy area within the Monmouth Clinic,” said Dietz. “We have an ample amount of exam rooms for our Ear, Nose & Throat and OB/GYN clinic appointments, and Convenience Care Clinic patients once that primary care service line begins.”

Patients with Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance can visit the MDH Monmouth Clinic in-network. For a full list of insurance plans accepted at McDonough District Hospital, go to https://bit.ly/mdhinsuranceplans.
