MFD and Local Area Volunteer Firefighters Participating in Grain Bin Safety Course

Share

During the week of September 19th through the 23rd from 8 am to 5 pm each day, the Monmouth Fire Department will host a Grain Bin Rescue Operations Course at Station 1 and Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau Manager Gina Sanberg shares any area volunteer firefighters are able to attend:

“If you are a volunteer firefighter in the area and this is something that you would like to attend, we are very fortunate that the Illinois Fire Service Institute will be there to teach the course. The Monmouth Fire Department has it set up. This is a 40 hour course. Obviously with all the agriculture in our area, it is something we want as many people as we can to be trained on and hopefully will never have to use what they will learn at this training, but it is obviously something that is near and dear to so many people in our area.”

The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau is covering the course fee for up to 15 Warren and Henderson County volunteer firefighters interested in completing the 40 hour course.
