Monmouth-Roseville Board Passes Balanced Budget

Share

Following a public hearing on a tentative budget and an appropriation ordinance, the Monmouth-Roseville Board of Education approved a balanced budget for the district, shares Superintendent Ed Fletcher:

“We have a balanced budget, so there is no deficit reduction plan required. We are doing well on that end of the spectrum in regard to the budget. I think it is important to note as we talk about funding for schools, evidence-based funding has been very, very important to us. In the different funds, when you look at your operating funds, our education fund, operations and maintenance, transportation, and working cash, our direct revenues are $23.5 million; our expenses are $22.8 million, so we are right around $800,000 budget surplus of operating funds.”

Breaking down the individual reserves, Superintendent Fletcher informs Monmouth-Roseville’s estimated Education Fund balance is $10 million, Operations and Maintenance Fund is $1.2 million, $2.1 million Transportation Fund, and Working Cash is at $5.6 million.
