Monmouth-Roseville Determined to Start Late Playoff Push

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan and United Red Storm football teams are in must-win situations this week. Both are in desperation mode with just four weeks left in the regular season. The United Red Storm are (0-5), with all five games against playoff teams, or teams with a legitimate shot to make the postseason. According to high school football expert, Steve Soucie, this could be a season in which a record-number of four win teams make the playoffs. With four games remaining in the regular season, the Red Storm still have a shot to pull in one of those postseason berths. On paper, the Red Storm have a good match for them in week 6 on Saturday afternoon. Walther Chrisitian Academy, an independent team from the Chicagoland, is up next for United. The Broncos are filling a hole in the schedule that was created by Ridgewood moving to 8-man football at the start of this season. Walther Christian is also (0-5) and has only scored 32 total points so far this year. The Monmouth-Roseville Titans are (2-3) currently. With two wins already, the Titans have slightly more margin of error than United to get to four or five wins. Monmouth-Roseville takes on (3-2) Orion tonight at Orion High School. With a win over the Chargers, the Titans just need two wins in their last three regular season games. As of now, Monmouth-Roseville will receive a forfeit win in week 7, due to Riverdale canceling their season shortly before it started. Highly state-ranked and (5-0) Princeton awaits Monmouth-Roseville in Week 9, so getting two or three wins before week 9 becomes imperative says Titan head coach Jeremy Adolphson.
