The Monmouth-Roseville Titan football team broke a 2-game losing streak with a 51-20 road win over Sherrard last Friday in week four of the high school football regular season. A 16-0 scoring advantage in the 3rd quarter broke open a close game at the half. The Titans evened up their overall record to (2-2) and (1-1) in the Three Rivers Conference’s West Division.
Monmouth-Roseville will try to take another step towards a playoff berth with a home game against Rockridge tonight at Coach Dobry Field in Monmouth. Due to the covid-shortened spring season in 2021 and other conference and division shakeups in the TRAC, Monmouth-Roseville hasn’t hosted Rockridge since 2017. The Titans won last fall’s match up 18-15, breaking a 4-game losing streak to Rockets. Against Sherrard, Monmouth-Roseville popped several long yardage plays.
Similarly, Rockridge has also gotten a multitude of big plays on their way to a (3-1) overall record and a first place TRAC West mark of (2-0). One of the three wins came via a forfeit by Riverdale, who was not able to field a varsity team this fall.
Titan head coach Jeremy Adolphson says big plays, up-tempo and sheer speed will be the name of the game Friday night.
Kickoff for Friday night’s game is set for 7:00, with the Sunny 97.7 WMOI pregame show at 6:40.
