New United Red Storm Junior High Golf Program Already Seeing State-Wide Success

The United School District gave the OK for a new fall sports program for the junior high. A golf program was started for boys and girls in the 6th-8th grade. And the program has already found some state-wide success. United Superintendent Jeff Whitsitt gave the details during his monthly spot on the WRAM Morning Show on Tuesday.

Paige shot an 18-hole score of 100 to tie for 8th place in the sectional meet at Madison Golf Course Golf and will tee off on Thursday morning at 10:42. This year, the girls state finals are being held at Metamora Fields in Metamora, Illinois. Galesburg will have three ladies in the finals, including Taylor and Grace Herchenroder and Eleanor Johnson. Galesburg will also have a boys golfer in the state finals on Friday, in Aiden Nelson.
